🚛 Position Overview

A CDL Class A Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport waste over local, regional, or long-haul routes. This role requires strict adherence to federal and state transportation regulations, punctual delivery, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate semi-trucks to deliver waste to designated locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Load and unload cargo, securing loads according to company and legal standards.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance using electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance and assist with minor roadside repairs as needed.
  • Adhere to assigned routes and schedules while maintaining timely delivery of goods.
  • Ensure professional and courteous interactions with customers during pickups and deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks, pre-employment as well as random drug screenings, and physical examinations as required.
  • Minimum age requirement (typically 21 years old).
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety procedures, and vehicle inspection protocols.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with electronic logging devices and GPS navigation preferred.
  • Valid medical examiner’s certificate.

  • Physical demands including loading/unloading cargo and performing vehicle inspections.
